A staffing platform for off-duty police officers

Employers, officers, and training providers matched by SMS on one installable platform.

RESULT
3 sides on one platform · SMS job alerts by criteria · PWA install, no app store

THE CHALLENGE

Security companies need licensed officers on short notice, and off-duty police officers want extra work that fits around their shifts. But the two sides found each other through phone trees, group texts, and word of mouth, which is slow, uneven, and easy to lose track of. A company scrambling to staff a job had no reliable way to see who was available and qualified, and an officer looking for work had no single place to hear about it. The demand and the supply existed. The connection did not.

WHAT WE DID

We built one platform where both sides meet. Security companies set up a profile, post a job, review the officers who respond, and assign the right one. Officers register, get verified once, set the work they want, and from then on receive an SMS the moment a matching job is posted, so they never have to keep checking. Training and licensing providers can advertise their courses to exactly the audience that needs them. We built it as a progressive web app rather than a native download, so an officer can save it to their home screen and use it like any other app, without the friction of an app store.

WHAT THEY GOT

Staffing a job stopped being a round of phone calls. Companies see who is available and qualified in one place, officers hear about work that actually fits their criteria without chasing it, and a third audience, the training and licensing providers, reaches the people who need them. What used to travel by word of mouth now runs on a platform built for it.

The value

The value is in the match. A company fills a shift faster because the right, verified officers are already on the platform and are told the moment a job appears. An officer earns more because opportunities arrive by text instead of hiding in a group chat. And because it installs like an app without being one, adoption never depended on anyone visiting an app store.

  • Employers, officers, and training providers on one platform instead of scattered phone trees.
  • Verified officers alerted by SMS the moment a job matches their criteria.
  • A progressive web app that saves to the home screen, with no app store required.

“Filling a last-minute post used to mean working the phones and hoping someone picked up. Now I post the job and the officers who fit it hear about it right away. It turned a scramble into a couple of taps.”
