Most people hesitate before clicking a button like that. It looks like the start of a sales pitch, and nobody has thirty free minutes to spend getting pitched to. So here’s exactly what happens, in plain terms, so the button stops being a mystery.
Nobody is selling you anything on that call
The person on the other end isn’t working from a script designed to get you to sign. Their job for those thirty minutes is to understand your actual situation: what’s broken, what you’ve already tried, what the business looks like in a year if nothing changes. That’s it. If a sales pitch happens to land in there somewhere, something went wrong.
We ask more questions than we answer
A good first call sounds less like a demo and more like an interview. What’s the process that’s driving you crazy right now? Who else touches it? What have you tried that didn’t work, and why do you think it didn’t? The goal isn’t to impress you with what we can build. It’s to understand whether we’re even looking at the right problem.
Sometimes the honest answer is “you don’t need us”
This is the part people don’t expect. If your process is genuinely simple, if an off-the-shelf tool would solve it, or if the real fix is a conversation with your team rather than a piece of software, we’ll say so on that first call. It costs us a potential project. It saves you a wrong decision. We’d rather be the vendor who told you the truth than the one who sold you something you didn’t need.
If it is a fit, you leave with something concrete
When there’s a real problem to solve, the call ends with a next step you can actually act on: what a Discovery phase would look like for your situation, roughly what it would cost to find out, and what you’d walk away with. No pressure to decide on the spot. Take it to your team, sit with it, come back when you’re ready.
What we’re not going to do
We’re not going to chase you with follow-up emails every few days. We’re not going to quote a number before we understand the problem. And we’re not going to tell you that you need something bigger than what you actually need, because a bigger project isn’t a better outcome for you, it’s just a bigger invoice for us.
The button exists because the alternative, guessing at what you need from a contact form, wastes everyone’s time. Thirty minutes gets you a straight answer either way.
